Authentic Historical Swordsmanship

We provide instruction in 500-year-old swordplay and close-quarter combat. Born on the battlefield, this is a martial art developed from actual experiences in battle, during a time when survival depended on skill, strength & quickness of mind.

Not just swords - it's a system

Our instruction is based on 16th-Century Italian sources.  In addition to one-handed and two-handed swords, we teach a variety of spears, daggers and other weaponry.  We also offer training in empty-handed combat: grappling and self-defense. Our practice focuses on safety, control and competence, and applying what we practice in real life situations.

No martial arts experience necessary

Class Schedule
Wednesdays: 7:00 PM Sword & additional weapon (90 minutes) Sword & buckler; dagger; large shield; cape; and dual swords.
Thursdays: 7 to 9 PM Private Lessons (60 minutes) By appointment, scheduled in advance.
Fridays: 7:00 PM BEGINNERS/Sparring (90 minutes) Open Sparring Night and Beginners' Class
Saturdays: 10:00 AM  Polearms / dagger / grappling (90 minutes) Traditional Italian grappling  self-defense techniques.  We alternate that with pole arms.
Sundays: 11:00 AM One-Handed Sword (90 minutes) The one-handed sword. Guards, cuts and forms, solo & paired.
Sundays: 12:30 PM Two-Handed Sword (90 minutes) Combat forms of the long two-handed sword.
